The Canadian rugby system
University rugby in Canada is organized by U Sports and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), which coordinate both recreational leagues and national championships. As a student-athlete, you compete against other universities and colleges, often within your province, but for the strongest teams, also at a national level. The season consists of weekly matches, collective practices, and tactical meetings, where you constantly work together with your team to achieve the best results and score points for your university’s ranking. The program is designed so that your studies always remain a priority, ensuring that lectures, assignments, and exams are combined with training sessions and matches, allowing you to fully integrate sport and study.
