Basketball System in Canada
Basketball is a popular school sport in Canada and is part of the extensive school sports program organized at the provincial level. Competitions are typically managed by provincial school sports organizations. High schools primarily play in regional leagues where they compete against other schools from the same region or province. During the basketball season, which often takes place in the winter, teams usually play two games per week. In addition, players train several times a week after school in the school’s gymnasium. Many leagues have a clear structure consisting of a regular season, followed by regional playoffs and provincial championships. This gives players the chance to represent their school and test their skills against other strong teams from across the province.
